UC Insert Ball Bearings
EP-UC insert ball bearings are the replaceable bearing element used inside many housed units. Their spherical outside profile works with the housing seat, while the extended inner ring and set screws lock the insert to a straight shaft.EP-UC insert dimensions and ratingsSelect the bore first, then compare outside diameter, width, set-screw details and basic load ratings with the housing and duty. The listed values are the metric entries for the UC models shown.ModelBore d (mm)DBCSS1GhSet screwCr (kN)Cor (kN)Mass (kg)EP-UC2042047311612.718.34.74.4M6x19.886.650.18EP-UC205255234.11714.319.85.54.3M6x110.87.880.23EP-UC206306238.11915.922.25.55.0M6x115.011.20.31EP-UC207357242.92017.525.46.55.8M8x119.815.20.47EP-UC208408049.2211930.28.06.3M8x122.818.20.65EP-UC209458549.2221930.28.06.8M8x124.520.80.7EP-UC210509051.6231932.69.06.5M10x1.2527.023.20.82Replacement checksDo not select an insert by bore alone. Confirm the spherical outside diameter, overall width, seal arrangement, locking method and housing series so the bearing seats correctly and the lubrication path remains usable.Series and locking optionsFamilyConfigurationSelection contextEP-UCWide inner ring with set-screw lockingGeneral housed bearing insertsEP-UCXExtended / alternate UC familyUse where the housing / insert geometry specifies UCXEP-SA / EP-NA / EP-HCEccentric-lock insert familiesMachines using an eccentric collar arrangementEP-SER / EP-ERAlternate insert families including inch-oriented applicationsConfirm bore and housing fitEP-UKTapered-bore insertUse with the specified H-series adapter sleeveHow to choose this categoryInsert ball bearings are selected when the housing is already defined or when an OEM is designing a housed unit around a standard insert. Bore size, outer spherical diameter, ring widths, seal arrangement and locking system must all match. A bearing with the same bore can still be incompatible with the housing.Typical applicationsEP-UC inserts are used inside pillow blocks, square / oval flanges, take-up housings and other mounted bearing systems. They are not a direct substitute for a conventional deep-groove ball bearing when the surrounding housing and shaft arrangement were designed differently.Frequently asked questionsWhat is the key difference between an insert bearing and a standard ball bearing? An insert bearing is designed to work with a compatible housed-unit system and often uses a wide inner ring plus a shaft-locking feature. Can I replace only the insert?Yes when the housing is serviceable and the insert dimensions / locking system match. Measure the housing bore interface and old insert. How do I choose between set-screw and eccentric-lock inserts?Follow the existing shaft arrangement and duty, then confirm dimensions. Do not change locking method without checking the machine design. What should I send for an insert-only RFQ?Complete model, shaft diameter, outer spherical diameter or existing housing model, widths, locking method and photos.Related bearing-unit familiesMatch the selected insert to an EP-UCP, EP-UCF, EP-UCFL, EP-UCFC or EP-UCT housing only after confirming the interface dimensions.Request a category quoteSend shaft diameter, mounting dimensions, locking method, application, quantity and any drawing or existing part number.
