Bearing Unit Installation & Maintenance Checklist
A correctly selected bearing unit can still fail early if the shaft is damaged, the mounting surface is distorted or the housing is pulled out of alignment during fastening.
Before installation
Confirm the model and bore, inspect the shaft surface, remove burrs, clean the mounting face and check that bolts fit without forcing the housing into position.
Alignment
On a two-bearing shaft, position both supports before final tightening where practical. Rotate the shaft by hand and verify that the mounting structure does not introduce binding.
Locking and lubrication
Use the procedure and fastener information for the ordered insert. Keep grease fittings accessible where relubrication is part of the maintenance plan.
Record the installed model
Photograph the final installation and keep the complete model code, shaft size and date in the maintenance record.
